Reading legend Dylan Kerr labelled it 'an honour and a privilege' to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Nominated alongside the likes of Robin Friday and Adam Le Fondre, the fan favourite joins over 100 names of Royal past and present with the accolade. 

Spending a relatively short spell in Berkshire, just three season- one of which was ravaged by injury- the full-back won the third tier and was part of the team that narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League in 1995.

Playing almost 100 times, he was also in the PFA Team of the Season for 1993/94.

Speaking exclusively to the Reading Chronicle, the Malta-born star said: "It feels absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t have wished for a better end of week tonic. It doesn’t matter when you get it, to get it is an amazing feeling. 22 years after finishing, I’m a Hall of Famer, for being there for just two years- if you look at it because I was injured. It’s the biggest compliment of it all.

"My association to the football club is still there. To be on the same billing as Kerry Dixon, Lawrie Sanchez, Robin Friday, and Mark McGhee was amazing. All my friends over here surprised me with a South African Reading Hall of Fame lunch which was really nice, so I celebrated it in South Africa. If it had been a week later, as obviously I lost my job last week, I might’ve made a plan to come over.
