Former Reading boss Veljko Paunovic is set to 'throw his hat into the ring' to take over at Cardiff City, according to reports.
The 45-year-old left Berkshire in February after 18 months in charge, with the Royals hovering dangerously above the relegation zone and on a run of one win in 10, including a record 7-0 defeat and being knocked out of the FA Cup by sixth tier Kidderminster Harriers.
He was replaced, initially on a temporary basis, by Paul Ince before the former England captain took over permanently in the summer.
It had all started so well, with Paunovic winning seven of his first eight matches- drawing the other- and leading the club to a seventh placed finish in the Championship during his debut campaign.
