New striker Andy Carroll is on the bench for Paul Ince's side as Reading face Wigan Athletic in under an hour.
After a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Sunderland in midweek, the manager has made just one change for the trip to Lancashire- Mamadou Loum dropping out for Baba Rahman to make his first start in his second spell.
33-year-old Carroll, returning on Thursday on a short-term deal, is alongside the likes of Yakou Meite and fellow new arrival Amadou Mbengue on the bench.
Having shipped four or more in two of their four away matches, the five defenders and goalkeeper could be crucial at the DW Stadium as the LaticsΒ come into the game on good form.
