Reading have confirmed that half-time entertainment will cease in the coming weeks due to a disease causing issues for the pitch.
Games, such as kicking the ball toward the corner flag, will not be possible in the near future due to a fungal issue called 'gray leaf spot'.
Potentially caused by the 'uncharacteristic' weather conditions this summer, which has included multiple heat waves and the hottest day on record, it has been isolated to a small part of the pitch and is being worked on by the grounds team.
While the issue is being sorted, access pitchside is limited only to groundspeople during the week and players, coaches and broadcast media on matchdays.
The club hope that the upcoming cooler weather should see the disease subside in the coming weeks, with Reading not at home for a fortnight after Wednesday's clash with Sunderland due to the international break.
