Reading trialist Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill has signed a one-year contract with Hungarian top-flight outfit Puskás Akadémia.

The 26-year-old left-back, who last played for Excelsior in Holland, joined the Royals for their pre-season camp at St George's Park over the summer but was not kept on.

Formerly of Swindon Town and coming through the youth ranks at Arsenal, the defender joins the 2021 runners up as they exit the UEFA Conference League in the qualifying stages.

This comes less than a week after fellow trialist Massimo Luongo was confirmed to have departed Berkshire to link up with Chris Wilder at Middlesbrough.

The Royals have two slots left to fill, although one looks set to be taken by returning striker Andy Carroll who is close to re-joining the club.

More than 11 players have spent time on trial with Reading so far this summer, with Paul Ince only able to sign loans and free agents due to the current transfer embargo.
