Popular Reading band The Amazons have promised to create a new walk on song for Reading Football Club, if they so desire.

Fresh off the back off releasing their third album, 'How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?', the rock band are touring and stopped in at their boyhood club for the 2-1 win over Stoke City.

Being interviewed on BBC Radio Berkshire, the question of walk-out songs was posed to the group.

Speaking on the current playlist, Neil Diamond's iconic Sweet Caroline came in for some stick- with the song used up and down the country by sports teams of all disciplines.

Reading Chronicle:

Even forward Lucas Joao, who scored both against the Potters, sounded less than enthused about it's weekly playing.

Discussing the prospect of making something unique, lead singer Matt Thomson said: "There’s been a couple of really great songs. When the Thai consortium were in charge, they had that Thai pop singer do ‘They Call us the Royals’. We will definitely pen something if the club so desires. We feel a song on our new record called ‘Ready for Something’ would be a great walk on song- we had that in mind."

One of the more popular recent tunes played before the match was by the Amazons, with big hit Black Magic.

Similarly, local group The Mirror Pictures are played regularly on match-day, with the song Robin Friday- about the former Royals striker- played immediately after half-time.
