Reading defender Baba Rahman admitted that he would be open to signing for the club on a permanent basis after his second loan spell.

Playing almost 30 times last season, the Chelsea full-back re-joined the Berkshire outfit last month on another temporary switch for the campaign.

Featuring for 20 minutes on his second debut in Sunday's 2-1 win over Stoke City, he is yet to start a match since his return.

With Saturday's match with Watford postponed due to the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the Ghana international will have to wait a bit longer for his start.

Speaking to the media during the week, he said: "Coming back to Reading was like coming back home. I know the lads and the management, so it was like coming home.

"It was always a possibility to come back here, I was in touch with the gaffer all summer. I watched three games of pre-season, so it was always a possibility. It was so frustrating because I wanted to get out and get a proper pre-season, but it was just the two clubs trying to sort out the transfer issues.

"If the possibility comes up [to sign permanently] then why not, I’ll take it, but it’s the two clubs who have to deal. I am feeling at home here, I love it."

Boss Paul Ince, who managed Rahman at the back end of his spell last season, has changed formation to a five at the back instead of a four- something which the 28-year-old is pleased about.

"This is football and you have to adapt to any set-up," he started. "You have less defending to do [in a five] and it’s always nice if you can get an assist or goal."
