The route for Reading Pride 2022 has been revealed.
The ‘spectacle of noise and colour’ is encouraging people to bring drums, whistles, trumpets, music and dance to the parade on September 3.
Celebrations will begin at the Reading Station Main Entrance, opposite The Oakford, and end in Kings Meadow for the opening of the Love Unites Festival.
When and where will Reading Pride take place
- Assemble at 10am - 10.30am for setting off at 10.45am
- Move off from Blagrave street, following one way system to Friar Street
- Follow Friar Street, down to West Street – turning left
- Enter St Mary's Butts, Passing Oxford Road
- From St Mary's Butts enter Bridge street – and follow all the way to The Oracle Southwest Pedestrian entrance
- Follow down the south side of The Oracle Riverside up until Yield Hall Place
- Turn Left at Yield Hall Place towards Minster Street
- Turn right onto Minster Street Towards king Street and immediately left onto Broad Street
- Follow Broad Street down to Queen Victoria Street (ITSU and HSBC)
- Walk down Queen Victoria Street and turn right onto Friar Street
- Walk down Friar Street Until The Town hall and turn right onto Market Place passing the Queen Victoria Statue
- Turn left onto The Forbury and continue down The Forbury passing the War Memorial
- Pass through Forbury Gardens and exit via the North East exit
- Cross A329 Forbury Road using the double Toucan Crossing and proceed down A329 Forbury Road under the Railway Bridge
- Turn Right onto Napier Road and cross Napier Road – and walk towards the Thames path
- Turn right onto the Thames Path and walk up past the lock and enter Festival Site at Kings Meadow at 12pm
Love Unites Festival
The Festival kicks off when the Parade arrives at 12pm with entertainment across three stages throughout the day along with a funfair, family area, food, drink and market stalls.
