Reading scored a belter and held firm to make it two wins in a week against Middlesbrough.

Here are the player ratings.

Dean Bouzanis- 6: Coming in for his debut with Joe Lumley unavailable against his parent club, the Aussie did not put a foot wrong. Rarely tested, the former Sutton United keeper did his job and can be proud of his first run out for the Royals.

Junior Hoilett- 7: A brilliant performance from the out-of-position wing-back. Diligently tracking his dangerous opposite number, he was the victim of some strong challenges and constantly got back up for more.

Reading Chronicle:

Tom Holmes- 7: Sturdy performance from the vice-captain who threw his body in front of everything.

Sam Hutchinson- 6: The experienced head of the defence, the former Sheffield Wednesday star made his debut against Boro. Playing 60 minutes on return from injury, he lead by example and put in a strong performance.

Tom McIntyre- 7: Not only strong at the back, he was a real threat overlapping from centre-back. After a shaky run-out against Rotherham United, the fan favourite has bounced back very well this week.

Andy Yiadom- 7: Similar to Yiadom, his main job was to track Isiah Jones and he did it expertly.

Tyrese Fornah- 8: Best performance so far from the Nottingham Forest loanee, the 22-year-old capped off a teriffic all-round display with a tremendous strike to win the game.

Reading Chronicle:

Mamadou Loum- 7: Nothing but quality since arriving, the Porto loanee threw himself into everything and more often than not won the ball. A touch of class when needed, he's already a fan favourite.

Jeff Hendrick- 6: Similar to Wednesday, Hendrick failed to catch the eye as much as his midfield partners. However, was hardly a poor performance and showed his experience as the minutes ticked by.

Tom Ince- 7: After running himself into the ground on Wednesday, he somehow managed to recover and do exactly the same just three days later. Had little chance in the opposition third but his work rate did not give the Boro defence a second's rest.

Shane Long- 6: Exactly what the Royals knew they would get with Long, the iconic forward ran defenders ragged and held the ball up expertly. Flagged on 60 minutes and earned a well-deserved rest, just need to start creating chances for him to score.

Substitutes

Lucas Joao- 6: Came on for the final half hour and helped see the game out. Did little personally and not as sharp as Wednesday, but he is still recovering from injury.

John Clarke- 7: A difficult job to come on and defend for the final 20 minutes, the youngster made a game-changing block in the dying embers to ensure the three points.  Crucial moment on the game.
