Reading striker George Puscas is finally set to leave the club after a drawn out summer of rumours.

The Romania international spent the second half of last season on loan with Pisa in Serie B, however is now on the brink of joining Genoa on a loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Finding form in Italy, he hit eight in 22 as Pisa nearly won promotion back to the top-flight, losing out in the play-off final.

Now awaiting his medical with the oldest club in Italy, in the second tier again after relegation from Serie A last season, the Royals can nearly finalise the move for defender Naby Sarr.

Leaving Huddersfield Town at the end of last season, the centre-back has been with the club for almost a month.

Amid ongoing communication with the EFL, the Royals were unable to confirm the signing until wages had come off the books.

It is now thought that the club have more freedom in the remaining week of the window, with a left-back the next priority.

Puscas netted just 20 times in over 90 appearances for Reading since his record-transfer in 2019.
