Reading will face off against Wolves, Sunderland and Cardiff City in the group phase of the Premier League Cup.

Inaugral winners of the competition in 2014, 32 teams compete alongside their Under-21 league campaigns- with West Brom current holders.

Noel Hunt's side, recently demoted to Premier Development League after losing Category One Academy status, have gotten off to a mixed start with one win and one defeat so far.

Each team will play home and away in the group, with the SCL Stadium hosting the fixtures in Berkshire.

The Bluebirds are first up on Friday, August 26, before the Black Cats and Wolves both visit in December to round off the group phase before knockout stages start after Christmas.
