Blackburn Rovers boss concedes that his team "weren't good" in a 3-0 defeat to Reading on Wednesday.

Tom McIntyre, Junior Hoilett and Lucas Joao sealed a memorable night at the SCL Stadium, trouncing the league leaders who had won every match until that point.

Full of praise for the Royals, manager John Dahl Tomasson believed Paul Ince's side played 'a great game.'

Speaking to media after the match, the Dane said: "We were not good at all. We did all the wrong things today. We also need to give credit to Reading, who played a great game. I hate losing, it's frustrating when you lose games- I feel sorry for our supporters who travelled a long way but carried on supporting us- sorry to them.

"I’m disappointed, the fans should be disappointed, the players should be disappointed, we’re all disappointed."

More than 1,200 supporters travelled from Lancashire for the match, just five months on from the Royals' last win over Rovers in RG2 last season.

The mood could be no more different to that of former Blackburn boss Ince- who was beaming.

"The performance was very, very good. We won't play like that every week. We bounced back from Saturday. I said to the players we need a response, a performance. "
