Blackburn Rovers fans were full of love for Reading after this morning's announcement that the Royals would wear black armbands in memory of iconic owner Jack Walker and former player Lenny Johnrose.

Walker owned Rovers for almost a decade, pumping money into the squad and infrastructure of his boyhood side as they lifted the Premier League in 1995.

Johnrose played over 50 times for the club but tragically died of motor neurone disease this week.

Taking to social media to show their appreciation, many have a new found respect for the Berkshire outfit (other than the 90 minute match this evening).

Jessica Allcock said "Love this. Respect"

Darren Coleman tweeted "Only charging £18 a ticket and now this...more clubs need to be like Reading.

Others include:

"Respect to Reading"

"Fair play to Reading! Affordable ticket prices and then very classy acts like this!"

"Ok, that puts you second top of my 'Championship' clubs I want to do well this season, list. Nice gesture! Got the right colours too - just a bit stripey for my liking."

"They’ve really done good. Affordable tickets for the games which hopefully will get more teams onboard in the future and then showing their respect for Jack and Lenny"
