Concerns have been raised about the danger posed by the paint wearing off mini roundabouts in Woodley.
Councillor for South Lake North ward, Richard Skegg, noted the roundabouts on Nightingale Road have “no paint left on them whatsoever” and raised the alarm at a Town Council meeting of the planning and community committee in July having witnessed a near accident.
“I saw a car drive over and nearly get sideswiped, so I thought perhaps one to keep an eye on,” he added.

Cllr Skegg stated that he reported the incident to Wokingham Borough Council.
The roundabouts are designed to be driven over but it was noted that the signage on the road for motorists to give way needs to be improved, having been painted “four years ago”.
Councillor for Coronation Central ward, David Bragg, suggested the no cycling signage in the town precinct should also be improved as some painted signage on the pavement was “worn and hard to see”.
