Reading boss Paul Ince confirmed that he has moved nearer the town, feeling it is the 'right' way to do things.

Taking over as interim manager in the winter, he formally signed a permanent deal over the summer and has moved to nearby Ascot- alongside son Tom Ince.

With their main residence on the Wirral, Ince Sr had spent time living at the SCL Stadium Voco Hotel with assistant boss Alex Rae.

However, now the role is permanent, Ince feels it's the proper way to commit to a job.

"Once you sign the contract you’ve got to do the job right," he stated. "You can’t keep going up and down to the Wirral.

"I’ve got a nice little place near Ascot; Tom is living with me at the moment which is a pain in the bum as he does jack**** apart from sit there and watch TV. It’s quite nice to have father and son time. You miss your kids and the wife, but she tries to come down as many times as she can.

"I don’t understand any manager that commutes, as a manager you have to put everything into it, especially where we are now. You’ve got to be in, so we don’t get time off. If you’re trying to squirrel up to see your family, it’s not the right mentality. Whatever happens in life, and as a manager, if you’re going to lose your job as long as you know you’ve given it your all, haven’t cheated yourself and not cut corners you can live with that."

Ince Jr had previously done an EFL podcast and alluded to the living situation, saying that he treats his dad to a McDonalds when it's his turn to buy the dinner.
