Reading, in association with Reading University, have revealed their new away kit for 2022/23.

Following on from the much-talked about launch of the home shirt, emcompassing the university's 'climate stripes', the 'Rose Quartz' monochrome kit will represent temperature increase across the town since the club's inception in 1871.

Reading Chronicle:

Both kits by Macron are entirely manufactured from recycled plastic bottles.

More than just empty words, the club are working alongside the academics to lower the club's carbon footprint.

The Club last week announced a three-year partnership with Bracknell-based business Energy Efficient Solutions Group, who will help install LED lighting across its Select Car Leasing Stadium site, with the goal of reducing energy usage from lighting by up to 80%.

Speaking on the launch of the home kit last month, Professor Ed Hawkins of University of Reading said: “The climate stripes are intended to start conversations about climate change - and making them visible to thousands of football fans across the country every week brings that to a new audience."

It is not just the football club getting involved with the 'climate stripes', with Reading Buses spreading the word across the town.
