The average cost of an Airbnb in the same area was also taken for the week before the event, to demonstrate the difference in price, and reveal the events impacting Airbnb prices the most.
The cost of a night’s stay at a Reading Airbnb a week before the festival is £174, indicating a 25.9% increase.
In this study, Reading Festival ranks 12th place when analysing festivals world-wide.
The annual festival is set to take place between August 26th-28th, with headliners including Dave, Wolf Alice and Rage Against the Machine.
Glastonbury is, of course, one of the most famous festivals in the world, and so it’s no surprise to see that it topped the rankings. With the likes of Sir Paul McCartney and Billie Eilish headlining, the festival was a huge hit in July, even despite Airbnb prices increasing by 221.6%.
