Two teenagers have been attacked and robbed after being sold broken AirPods in Reading Town Centre yesterday (8/8).

The incident occurred outside Davina’s off licence in Broad Street at around 2:30pm on August 8.

The 17-year-old boys were approached by a group of men who offered to sell them AirPod headphones.

After purchasing the headphones, they immediately realised that the equipment was broken and asked for their money back.

The victim’s dark blue iPhone 12 was stolen from the victim and the boys were then ‘punched and kicked’ by the group.

Following the assault, the offenders were seen running off in the direction of West Street.

Police are appealing for ‘Good Samaritans’ who may have witnessed the incident.

The first offender is described as a 5ft 10in white man of large build who was wearing an orange t-shirt and shorts.

The second was said to be a white man in his late teens with short brown hair and 6ft 2in tall. This offender was described as wearing a dark blue coloured t-shirt and shorts and carrying a shopping bags.

The third offender was also thought to be in his late teens, with short brown hair and a skin fade. He was wearing a light blue coloured t-shirt and shorts.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jen Cox said: “I believe that lots of members of public witnessed this incident and that some may have even chased the suspects from the scene. We would urge these Good Samaritans to please get in touch as soon as possible, because their information could help our investigation.
