An American chain pizza takeaway could soon stay open until 3am in a busy area of Reading.
Avon Foods Ltd, which runs the Papa John’s in Oxford Road, has applied to serve pizza indoors until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays and 2am from Sunday to Thursday.
Papa John’s also serves up papadia folded pizzas, cheese bites and wings to hungry diners.
It is located in Cholsey House, Moulsford Mews, a precinct which also contains a Subway, the 805 Restaurant and Grill and Chaayé Paani café.
Cholsey House is a short walk from the Tesco Extra in Portman Road.
The takeaway is currently open from 11am to 11pm each day, and would require a licence to serve food past 11pm.
Papa John’s also has takeaways in Shinfield Road and Woodley town centre.

The bid to stay open to 2am and 3am has been submitted to Reading Borough Council.
Anyone who wants to comment on the application can do so by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk.
The deadline for representations is Thursday, September 1.
A hearing on a licensing application will only take place if a valid objection is made.
So far this year, the council’s licensing applications committee has met to approve temporary event licences for Zorba’s Kebabs in Station Road and The Jolly Anglers pub on the Kennet Side.
