Former Reading trialist Julian Jeanvier has signed for Ligue 1 side Auxerre, just weeks after leaving Berkshire.
30-year-old Jeanvier spent most of pre-season with the Royals, impressing against Benfica at the culmination of the St George's Park training camp.
However assistant manager Alex Rae confirmed, after a draw with West Ham last month, that the Guinea international had been let go- alongside many others such as Connor Wickham, Josh Murphy and Jodi Jones.
Born and raised in France, Jeanvier made his name with Nancy, Reims and Lille but a 2018 switch to Championship Brentford raised his profile on British shores.
Playing more than 50 times for the Bees, he was a regular for two seasons but sufferd with injury and failed to register a top-flight appearance last campaign.
Auxerre won promotion back to the top tier of French football, after a decade away last season, with Jeanvier signing a one-year contract.
