New Reading midfielder Mamadou Loum revealed that he watched YouTube videos of boss Paul Ince ahead of a move to Berkshire.

The 25-year-old joins on a season-long loan from Portugese giants Porto, although it is understood that the club have an option to buy him next summer.

Playing in the same position as the former England captain, it is no surprise that the Senegal international is looking forward to working under the Manchester United legend.

"I have seen some videos on YouTube of him when he was younger," he beamed. "When he was a player he was very good.”

“I spoke with the manager who is a good coach, and he will help me improve every day in training.

"This is a big challenge and it is important to me to get this opportunity as it offers me the chance to mature, to get some more experience and to win games for this club."

The third midfielder signed by Ince, the 54-year-old wants Loum to be given time to settle after spending a season with Alaves in La Liga.

Speaking after the opening day defeat to Blackpool, he said: "He's a big lad at 6’2", a midfield player. He’s strong, he can tackle, he can score goals, and he’s great with the players already. He’s a lovely character. He’s got to settle in, I know what it’s like when I went to Inter Milan, it doesn’t just happen. When he’s ready he’ll show what a very good player he is."
