Stabbings, beatings and death threats were among the crimes which remain unsolved in July.

Thames Valley Police are still appealing for information regarding four crimes which occurred in Reading throughout the month.

Man stabbed after asking road blockers to move

Two 19-year-olds have been arrested after a man was stabbed for asking a group blocking the road to move.

A driver, aged in his twenties, asked a group of men gathered in the middle of Friar Street to move on July 23 when they stabbed and punched him.

He was rushed to hospital with grievous bodily harm and has since been discharged.

A 19-year-old from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and violent disorder.

A 19-year-old from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Both men have been released on bail until 22 August.

An altercation broke out in Friar Street between a man and a group of men.

A 30-year-old man was arrested following the incident at 4.35pm on suspicion of assault by beating.

The was released on bail has now been released under investigation.

Police are searching for a 48-year-old man in connection with death threats, stalking and assault in Reading.

Scott Belcher has been linked to incidents of criminal damage, malicious communications and breach of a restraining order.

Thames Valley Police described Mr Belcher as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, with a medium build.

He has brown and grey styled hair and a grey/brown short beard and moustache.

He’s known to frequent public houses in the Oxford Road area of Reading and Caversham.

Staff investigator Phoebe Mayo, based at Reading Police Station, said: “We have been seeking to locate Belcher since the first incident in May, and he has yet to be located.”

Serious eye and face injuries

Police continue to investigate the assault of a man with a blunt object in George Street.

A 36-year-old man was sat in the park when an argument broke out between him and a group of three men at around 4pm on July 10.

The man was hit in the face, knocking him to the ground and leaving him with serious injuries to his left eye and cheek.

He received treatment at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and has since been discharged.

Police described the offender who hit the victim is described as a black man and approximately 5ft 7ins tall.

He was wearing a black top, black shorts, black trainers and a black baseball hat.

Investigating Officer, Police Constable Jessica Higgins, based at Reading police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time or driving past and witnessed anything, or have dash cam footage, to please get in touch.”
