New photos from the scene show the extent of the damage caused to a number of houses in Calcot.

Firefighters tackled the blaze at a number of properties in Red Cottage Drive, Calcot, in the early hours of the morning.

This morning (July 29) pictures show the aftermath of the fire, which has ripped through the roofs of the houses.

While the fire is no longer raging like it was last night, there is still a large emergency service presence whilst investigations continue into the cause.

Firefighters are also at the scent to collect residents belongings from out of the houses.

Residents affected by the fire have gathered inside Calcot Infant School, which has been set up as a triage centre.

Fire crews at the scene include those from Newbury Fire Station, and a crew from Theale, Caversham Road, Whitley Wood, Wokingham Road, Mortimer, Bracknell, Crowthorne, and Maidenhead fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Aerial Ladder Platform from Whitley Wood Fire Station, the Incident Command Unit from Maidenhead Fire Station and two RBFRS Officers. 

A spokesman said: "Upon arrival, crews confirmed a fire affecting two properties. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the fire using two hose reels and two main jets. 
 
"This incident is now scaling back, but some crews remain on scene dampening down and carrying out reinspections, please continue to avoid the area where possible. "
