A Reading woman has been handed a huge court bill after skipping a £120 train fare.
Anne-Marie Bailey, of Kennet Walk, was stopped at Sutton Coldfield railway station in the West Midlands without a valid ticket on February 18, 2022.
The 44-year-old was ordered to pay £120 in compensation by a court earlier this month.
On top of this, she was fined £440, ordered to pay £180 in court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.
This brought her total bill to £784.
Bailey did not appear for her hearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 15.
