The bank in School Road, Tilehurst, will stop operating on November 3, making the next nearest branch three miles away.

This will be the first time 44 per cent of its customers have used a different branch, according to Lloyds.

They said 153 customers used the branch for a transaction in 11 of the last 12 months – a ‘regular customer’.

Customers will have to travel to Broad Street (three miles) or Crockhamwell Road (six miles away) if they wish to use a Lloyds branch.
