Porto midfielder Mamadou Loum is "on his way" to join Reading on loan, according to reports in Portugal.

The 25-year-old Senegal international has played 11 games for the Portugese giants since arriving in 2019, spending time with the 'B Team' and Alaves in recent seasons.

Making his name with 'Braga B', he was a part of his country's African Cup of Nations victory last year.

According to a report from Record, "Mamadou Loum is on his way to English football, specifically to represent Reading from the competitive second tier. You know that fc Porto's loan agreement includes a purchase option of 5 million euros.

The 25-year-old midfielder was not part of FC Porto's plans for the new season, which is still linked to the blues and whites until June 2024."

He would become the third midfielder to enter the club this summer, with Jeff Hendrick and Tyrese Fornah having arrived.
