Reported Reading target Omari Hutchinson has joined Chelsea.

The 18-year-old spent the last seven years with Arsenal but talks over a new deal collapsed and the West London side pinched the promising midfielder.

The winger notched six goals and six assists in under 20 appearances for the Gunners in PL2 and had been named on Mikel Arteta’s bench on multiple occasions.

Predominantly playing off of the left-hand side, Hutchinson scored twice in the Checkatrade Trophy and played a full 90 minutes in the FA Youth Cup.

The Royals were said to be looking to take the teenager on loan from the Emirates, with his dad involved behind the scenes in Berkshire.

Another key factor is that his agent is Kia Joorabchian.

Director of Sports Invest UK, the agency with starts such as Aston Villa’s Philippe Coutinho and Douglas Luiz, Joorabchian has long had a relationship with Royals owner Dai Yongge which has come under some scrutiny from fans and media over the last 12 months.

Other Reading players under his agency include Nelson Abbey and Mamadi Camara, as well as former striker Augustus McGiff and target Rodrigo Riquelme.
