Rumoured Reading target Elliot Anderson has revealed that he does not want to go out on loan.

The 19-year-old impressed on loan with Bristol Rovers in the second half of last season, netting eight goals as Joey Barton’s Gas won promotion to League One.

Eddie Howe took the Scotland Under-21 international away on pre-season tour but is now expected to allow the teenager to depart on a temporary basis.

Linked with the Royals earlier in the summer, West Brom and Luton Town are among the latest clubs said to be interested in acquiring the attacking starlet.

However, the North-East native does not seem too enthused about departing St James’ Park again.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, he said: “I want to be here.

“I want to force my way into the team, but, I guess, that’s the club’s decision. I’ve just got to work as hard as I can on the pitch and see what happens.”

Paul Ince has made seven additions to his squad so far, including midfielder Sam Hutchinson earlier today.
