Former Reading defender Terell Thomas has appeared on trial for Portsmouth since ihis departure from Berkshire, according to reports.

26-year-old Thomas joined the Royals in March after a trial period and went on to feature twice for the first team under Paul Ince after playing regularly for Noel Hunt's Under-23s.

Released at the end of short-term deal in the summer, the St Lucia international played more than an hour in a 0-0 draw with Bristol City, say Portsmouth News.

Pompey are embarking on their sixth season in the third tier, marking more than a decade outside the top two divisions.

Thomas became Danny Cowley's eighth trialist this summer, alongside the likes of Andre Wisdom.

There has been heavy interest in Thomas, according to reports, with Derby County and Birmingham City linked with the former AFC Wimbledon and Crewe Alexandra star.
