Reading FC Academy graduate Omar Richards has signed for newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Leaving the Royals in 2021 after eight years to join European super club Bayern Munich, the 24-year-old left-back is back in English football with the Tricky Trees.

Playing over 100 times in Berkshire, Richards left the club on a free transfer after a strong season in which Veljko Paunovic took the side to seventh.

The London-born defender played almost 20 times for the six-time Champions League winners before Steve Cooper splashed a reported 10 million euros to take him to the City Ground.

It is Forest's first top-flight campaign since 1999 after winning the play-offs against Huddersfield Town.
