A man was served ‘raw’ chicken at a German Donor Kebab restaurant in Reading, according to a customer.

Josh Cowans, 27, from Theale, ordered two boss box meals on July 1 only for the meat to arrive “looking like it had been cooked for thirty seconds,” he said.

He and his partner, Rebecca Maul, 28, were ‘disappointed’ and said they won’t be going back to the establishment in Friar Street.

“It was a mixed kebab between beef and chicken. I started eating mine and luckily my girlfriend noticed, unwrapped hers and when she started picking through it half of the chicken was stone-cold raw,” said Mr Cowans.

“It’s just gross. It’s not good,” he said, adding that he had paid £24.98 for the meals.

“It’s the first time I went there as well, I was very disappointed.”

A spokesperson for German Doner Kebab said: “The wellbeing of our customers is our number one priority as we strengthen our position as the UK’s fastest-growing restaurant chain.
