A 27-year-old man from Reading must pay more than £400 for dropping a cigarette butt.
Joshua Jacobs, of Southcote Road, broke the Environmental Protection Act (1990) when he left the cigarette end in Above Bar Street, Southampton, on March 10.
A judge at East Hampshire Magistrates' Court on June 28 fined Jacobs £220.

He was ordered to pay costs of £168.75 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
He must pay the full amount, £422.75, by July 26
