Former Reading Academy star Josh Barrett has signed a new one-year deal with National League North side Kings Lynn Town.
The 24-year-old joined the Linnets last season after his release from Bristol Rovers.
He netted some stunning strikes but it was not enough to help keep the Norkfolk-based side in the National League, relegated to the sixth tier after two seasons in the top tier of the non-league pyramid.
Manager Tommy Widdrington said: "I am delighted to share that we have agreed a new contract with Josh Barrett.”
“I spoke with Josh, expressing my wish to extend his contract before we both went off on our respective breaks, I was always confident an agreement would be reached as both parties genuinely wanted a common resolution.”
Formely a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, Barrett played 13 times for the Royals first time between 2016 and 2019.
Never notching in the league, he scored a sublime brace against Plymouth Argyle in the 2019/20 Carabao Cup
