Former Reading winger Brandon Barker is due to arrive in Cyrpus to finalise his move to Omonia Nicosia.

Managed by former Celtic boss Neil Lennon, the 25-year-old joins up with former Hoops full-back Adam Matthews.

Playing just four times for the Royals since arriving in February, he was not offered a second deal and departed officially on June 30.

A highly-rated prospect at Manchester City, he has spent prominent spells with Hibernian and Rangers.

A statement read: "We have reached an agreement in principle on a two-year contract with the 25-year-old English striker, Brandon Barker, who has been playing for Reading FC for the past few months.

"The footballer emerged from Manchester City's infrastructure departments, making his debut in the first team in 2016, while also participating in the UEFA Youth League competition. He also played for NAC Breda on loan from the "citizens", Hibernian FC and Rangers FC, with whom he played in the UEFA Europa League groups. He also wore the coat of arms of his homeland with participations in small national teams in England.

"Brandon Barker will soon be in Cyprus to complete the deal."
