Thunderstorms are set to hit West Berkshire today, according to the Met Office.
The forecasting body announced a yellow weather alert from midday to 10pm in Newbury, Thatcham and other areas close to Reading.
A yellow warning includes disruption to journeys and power as well as damage to structures.

Driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and possibly hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus and delays to train services.
Homes could be flooded somewhat and lightning strikes could damage buildings.

Today
Rather cloudy start, but some brighter or sunny spells, most likely in the west. Showers developing across western parts, likely heavy and with a chance of thunder.
Tonight will be a mixture of variable cloud and clear spells overnight.

Friday
Some early brighter spells, but cloud will thicken through the morning, according to the Met Office. The weather should remain dry with isolated showers and warm sunny periods developing through the afternoon.
Saturday to Monday
Variable cloud and sunny spells for most through the weekend, but still a risk of isolated showers. All parts likely drier Monday. Feeling warm, especially when sheltered from any breeze.
