FIREFIGHTERS rushed to the scene of an unattended bonfire which had gone 'out of control' yesterday.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue crews were called to Oxford Road at 8.20pm yesterday (June 23) to attend a bonfire.
A spokesman for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said: "Upon arrival, crews found a bonfire that had spread to a nearby derelict building.
"Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and were on the scene for around one hour and 10 minutes. "
Crews from Caversham Road, Whitley Wood and Wokingham Road fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside one RBFRS Officer.
