A WOKINGHAM man has been fined £1,000 after selling puppies without a licence.
Andrew Cash, of Chestnut Avenue, listed adverts for the sale of three different breeds of dog between April 13, 2021 and October 15, 2021.
The posts advertised the sale of a litter of five cocker spaniels, another litter of four cocker spaniel puppies, and a litter of seven cockapoo puppies.

However, the 37-year-old was selling the puppies without a licence -- something that is required under sections 13 and 32 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
Cash did not appear for a court hearing where he was due to be sentenced for breaching the Act.
Despite this, Reading Magistrates’ Court still fined him £1,000.

The court also told the Wokingham man to pay £1,121 in costs and a £100 victim surcharge.
This means Cash now faces a bill of £2,221 altogether.
The hearing took place on Friday, June 17.
