Vincent Kompany's Burnley are among the teams selected for Sky Sports television coverage in the first weekend of the season.

The Clarets were relegated to the Championship last season for the first time since 2016 and former Manchester City captain Kompany takes charge of his first compeititive match as manager against losing play-off finalists Huddersfield Town.

Picked for the 8pm slot on Friday, July 29- it will be the traditional EFL curtain raiser as the iconic centre-back looks to make his name as a boss.

Middlesbrough host John Swift's West Brom on Saturday, July 30 in the 5.30pm kick-off.

Swift left Reading last month to join the Baggies after six years in Berkshire, with the 26-year-old no doubt looking to open his account on Teesside.
