Reading manager Paul Ince has been ranked the second worst manager in the Championship ahead of the 2022/23 campaign by popular YouTuber and journalist.

Arriving as interim boss in February, Ince signed a new permanent job last month alongside assistant manager Alex Rae.

Benjamin Bloom, a specialist Championship YouTuber with almost 25,000 subscribers and a writer for Football365, is a popular voice on the subject of the second tier- particulalry known for his impartiality and knowledge.

With only a month until the new season gets underway, Mr Bloom ranked every Championship manager, with only QPR's Michael Beale being rated below former England international Ince.

On his video, which now has more than 3,000 views, said: "I’ll acknowledge that Ince met his brief of keeping Reading in the Championship last season as interim manager but after eight years away from the dugout he needs to rebuild his managerial stock."

Coming in at number one was former Sheffield United and Oxford United boss Chris Wilder, who now manages Middlesbrough, for his expolits with the Blades.

Reading Chronicle:

Bloom explained: "Wilder tops the lists based on the stunning 46-place increase in the pyramid that he undertook at his boyhood club, Sheffield United. Nobody can really match that kind of job, especially as it takes in two Championship seasons, and nobody can match that top level, in recent memory, of ninth place in the Premier League.

"It’s only a couple of years ago- Middlesbrough fans will hope that the magic is still there and that wasn’t any kind of peak. It shouldn’t be, Wilder is only 54."
