Reading have targetted Swansea City defender Ryan Bennett, according to WalesOnline.
The former Wolves and Norwich City centre-back has been told that he is not in manager Russell Martin's plans but his contract runs until 2023.
Speaking about Bennett in April, Martin said: "Ryan knows where we're at. We had a really good chat about it. He’s not part of our plans moving forward. He knows that.
Understand Reading have looked at signing Ryan Bennett from Swansea but their financial situation is tricky.

Defender was told several months ago he could leave this summer & he isn't with the Swans at their Pennyhill Park training camp. #Swans #ReadingFC https://t.co/BxHVQCkeXj
According to the report from Ian Mitchelmore, this is proving a stumbling block for the Royals as they can still only sign free agents or loan players.
The 32-year-old would also be expected to take a significant pay cut if he were to move to Bearwood.
Vastly experienced, he has won promotion to the Premier League twice and still managed to play 18 matches for the Swans last season, despite a clear change in philosophy and tactics.
The Welsh outfit have already brought in three players in his position this summer, making his future perfectly clear.
Paul Ince has made just one signing so far this summer, bringing Middlesbrough goalkeeper Joe Lumley into RG2.
