Reading have announced that they are having a backroom shake-up, with two new coaching staff arriving and three returning to their previous roles with the Academy.

More than a month after the announcement that former interim manager and coach Paul Ince and Alex Rae had signed new contracts, James Oliver-Pearce and Tom Warner have been revealed as First Team Coach and Goalkeeper Coach respectively.

Oliver-Pearce joins from AFC Wimbledon, where he worked his way up to becoming a first team coach in 2022- including working alongside Royals Head of Football Operations, Mark Bowen.

Former international goalkeeper Warner joins from recently promoted Bristol Rovers, with former goalkeeping coach James Bittner offered a senior role within the Academy.

Meanwhile club legends Michael Gilkes and Mikele Leigertwood, both big fan favourites from their playing days with the club, have returned to their roles as Head of Academy and Under-18s Manager after stepping up to help Ince and Rae during the interim period.
