Royals supporters have been able to have a first glimpse of the official EFL retained list ahead of what promises to be a challenging 2022/23 campaign.

Over a month ago the club released their list of who had been offered new deals ahead of the new season, with the likes of John Swift and Michael Morrison allowed to leave.

Five first team stars were offered extensions, namely Josh Laurent, Andy Rinomhota, Tom Holmes, Femi Azeez and Andy Yiadom.

So far the futures of all five are yet to be confirmed, although it is believed that both Holmes and Yiadom will extend their stays in Berkshire beyond June 30.

Eight Under-23 squad members were offered new deals as well as a host of scholars, with the likes of Mamadi Camara and Rashawn Scott expected to stay.

According to the EFL: Jahmari Clarke, Tyrell Ashcroft, Louie Holzman, Jeriel Dorsett and Kian Leavy are said to be under contract on the official release, possibly implying they have accepted the offers on the table.

They are one of 17 to be playing for the Royals so far, as per the Football League.

This leaves nine players under 24 who the club are awaiting confirmation of.

They are: Nelson Abbey, Azeez, Camara, Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, Claudio Osorio, Imari Samuels, Holmes, Nahum Melvin-Lambert and Scott.

This list does not include players over 24 and not yet signed on; namely Laurent, Rinomhota and Yiadom.

Royals players return topre-season training on Monday ahead of a Championship return on the final weekend of July.
