Reading FC midfielder Mamadi Camara is looking "likely" to sign a new contract ahead of next season.

The Guinea-Bissau international excited fans in his eight brief apperances for the first team last season, earning himself a cap for his national team.

Still only 18, he scored four goals and gained an assist for the Under-23s side, including a strike in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup semi-final as Noel Hunt's team won the competition.

Arriving in the Berkshire Academy in 2020 from Portugal, he is certainly one that the supporters feel have an exciting future ahead of him.

According to reports, a whole host of big name teams declared an interest in the winger- including Ajax and PSV- but the Reading Chronicle understands that he is looking increasingly likely to be staying in Berkshire and talks are progressing well.

He is one of more than 20 stars yet to officially sign a contract with the club ahead of next year, however youth teammate Rashawn Scott all-but confirmed his future in a series of Twitter posts over the weekend.
