A MAN was threatened to be stabbed and pushed over during a late night robbery attack.

At about 11pm on Monday, June 6, a group of people approached a man on the footpath near to Riverside Community Centre, Rosemoor Gardens in Newbury.

Police said one of the men used abusive language and pushed the victim over.

He then threatened to stab him if he did not hand over any money.

The suspect is described as white and in his late teens, around 5ft 10inches tall, of athletic build, with light coloured hair and wearing a red t-shirt.

A van key with a fob was stolen in the attack.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Allen, based at Newbury police station, said “I would like to appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.

"If you have any information about this incident, you can get in touch by making a report online or calling 101, quoting reference 43220247244."
