How hot do you like it?

Foodies can challenge their taste buds next month when Reading Chilli Festival gets underway.

The one-day event will take place on Saturday, June 18 and will be held on Broad Street in the town centre.

In association with Eat Reading, the festival will feature:

  • Live music
  • Man v Food challenges
  • Chilli easting content
  • Gifts available to purchase
  • East Asian, South African and Mexican Street food
  • Chilli plants available for purchase

Sauces, chutneys, chilli jam, chilli chocolate, fresh chillies, chilli beer and cider will all be available at the festival.

Reading Chronicle:

A poster for the festival says: “Join us for a day of celebration of ‘all things chilli’ with offerings from some of the UK’s greatest chilli producers, including a huge range of chilli products, plants and paraphernalia.

“Lots to keep all the family amused, including (naturally) a chilli eating contest and a fine selection of global food for all tastebuds… some of it hot, some of it not!”

You can find the Chilli Festival on Broad Street from 10am to 5pm. The event is free entry.

This year’s event is the sixth time Reading Chilli Festival will have taken place.
