A MAN with a ‘flagrant disregard for people and their property’ has been locked up after stealing designer clothes.
Justin Clift, of Wantage Road, Reading, stole more than £200 worth of goods over the space of five days in January.
His shoplifting spree began on January 5, 2022, when he stole a Calvin Klein sweatshirt and t-shirt worth £120 from John Lewis on Broad Street, Reading.

Three days later, the 34-year-old stole two North Face jackets with a value unknown from Cotswold Outdoors store on Basingstoke Road.
He was also convicted of threatening a man at the store on this day.
And on January 10, Clift returned to John Lewis to steal four Calvin Klein shirts worth £120.
Appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court on May 20, Clift was sentenced to 38 weeks in prison.

This is because a court judged him to have a ‘flagrant disregard for court orders [and] a flagrant disregard for people and their property.”
The sentence was further aggravated because Clift committed these offences while on bail and subject to a community order.
Clift was ordered to pay a £156 victim surcharge.
