Reading are in the hunt to sign free agent Sherwin Seedorf, according to reports.

The wide-man, who was most recently at Motherwell, has been recovering from a knee injury which rendered him sidelined for the 2021/22 campaign.

Nephew of AC Milan and Holland icon Clarence Seedord, he has been without a club since leaving the Scottish Premiership side at the end of the 2020/21 season, and is now fully fit.

A long term target for the Royals, with interest going back as far as winter 2020, FootyInsiders is reporting that Reading and Stoke City are both taking a keen interest in the one-time Wolves Academy star.

Now 24, he has played just 60 times since turning professional in 2018.

Seedorf scored three times in 41 appearances at Fir Park.

Available on a free transfer, it would pass the rules set by the EFL on the embargo- and with fellow rumoured winger Omari Hutchinson reportedly on the watch-list it would fit a possible plan of recruting a wide midfielder ahead of 2022/23.
