A COUPLE of greedy diners fled a popular Oxford restaurant without paying their £280 bill.

Anne Mahon, of The Beeches, Woodley, Reading, and a teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, made off without paying at Victors Restaurant at the Westgate shopping centre on August 5, 2021.

The 38-year-old and the teenage boy racked up a food and drink bill of £286.26.

However, they left the restaurant before paying for their dinner.

Appearing at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 17, Mahon was fined £120 and made to pay compensation of £71.50.

She was also made to pay a £34 victim surcharge.

The teenage boy waled from court with a 12-month conditional discharge and an order to pay just £71.50 in compensation.

Victors restaurant and bar opened in Westgate in May 2018 and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as cocktails.

It serves sushi, salads, small plates, pizza, steaks and more.

The most expensive item on its Oxford menu is 1kg Tomahawk rib-eye steak, which will set diners back a whopping £69.
