Reading favourite Andy Carroll is a free agent again after being released by West Brom following the end of his short-term contract.

The former England international striker joined the Royals in November and endeared himself to the supporters with his work-rate and eye for a goal.

The Geordie netted twice with the Berkshire club, both away from home against Swansea City and Middlesbrough, before departing at the end of January.

Steve Bruce's Baggies picked him up and he scored another three in  14 appearances for Midlands outfit.

Now 33, the nine-cap England forward is without a club again along with fellow stars Romaine Sawyers and Sam Johnstone after their releases from the Hawthorns.
