Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman has refuted claims that he is signing for Turkish giants Galatasary this summer after departing Reading.

Spending the 2021/22 campaign on loan in Berkshire, the Ghana left-back played 29 times as the side stayed in the Championship with two matches to spare.

The defender has another two years under contract with Thomas Tuchel's Blues but it looks unlikely that he will break into the team at Stamford Bridge having made just 23 appearances since joining in 2015.

Outlets in Turkey had linked the popular star with a move to Galatasaray, but according to SportsWorldGhana these rumours are nothing more than that, rumours.

Speaking to the website in Ghana, Rahman said: "I am just in Istanbul for personal reasons, all what people are saying that I am going to join Galatasaray are false.”

The former Schalke and PAOK loanee endeared himself to Royals fans with his late night 'anybody up' tweets throughout the season and for his attack-minded style.

Upon the ending of his temporary stay in RG2, the World Cup 2022 hoepful tweeted: "Not the season we all wanted but proud that we kept this team up with fight and determination. Now time for a break and look forward to what the future holds for us all. For one last time… Up the f**kin ding."

According to those who filled in the Reading Chronicle 'Big Reading FC fan survey' only winger Tom Ince was voted higher for 'Best Signing of the Season' than Rahman.
